General Admissions Information

Chadron State College is committed to the policy that all persons have equal opportunity and access to programs without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, marital status, gender, age, religion, or disability. All students seeking admission for enrollment must complete the Application for Admission and submit all related documents before final acceptance can be granted. All materials become the property of Chadron State College and are not returned. Admission may be revoked if granted on the basis of false information willfully submitted, or if the disclosure of facts required in the application process are intentionally concealed or omitted.

Chadron State College shall admit as students those persons who have graduated from an accredited high school or who present evidence of the achievement of a High School Equivalency Certificate based on the General Educational Development examination.

FRESHMEN Requirements

  • Apply - Complete and submit an online Admissions Application on the Application page.
  • High School Transcripts
    Freshmen are required to provide a final, official high school transcript prior to the start of their first term of enrollment.
    Request that a final, official high school transcript with your graduation date, final GPA and final class rank be sent directly from your high school to the Chadron State College Admissions Office.
    • If applicable, Home School transcripts or official GED certification should be submitted. Nebraska GED scores can be ordered by calling 402-471-2475 or ordered online on the GED website. Out-of-state GED scores can be ordered by contacting the Department of Education for the state in which the test was taken.

  • ACT/SAT Scores
    Complete the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and request that the official results be sent to Chadron State College. Our ACT college code is 2466. Our SAT college code is 6466.
    • If the student graduated from high school or earned a GED withing the past five years, the ACT is required. If the student graduated from high school or earned a GED over six years ago, a placement test is required.
  • Freshmen are required to provide their ACT or SAT scores, prior to enrollment. Scores will be accepted in the following formats:
    • Sent directly from ACT/SAT
    • Copy of the scores the student received
    • Scores sent from the ACT website or the SAT website
    • On the high school transcript

When sending the scores, please make sure your composite (total) score AND all the sub-scores are reflected.

  • College Transcripts
    If you took college courses or received college credit while in high school, you are required to provide OFFICIAL transcripts from those institutions, prior to enrollment. Please contact each institution you have taken courses with to required the official transcripts. Transcripts will be accepted if they are "in-progress" if you are currently enrolled, for the purpose of enrollment, however a FINAL and OFFICIAL transcript is required once your courses are completed and graded.
    Failure to provide the FINAL and OFFICIAL transcript will result in serious repercussions related to your admission and financial aid.
    Students may not omit any part of their previous college records, whether part-time or full-time, with or without degree objectives, whether or not credit has been granted, or whether or not they desire to transfer credit. Chadron State reserves the right to use the National Student Clearinghouse and/or the National Student Loan Data System to verify that students have accurately disclosed their academic history. Failure to disclose a complete collegiate record may result in denial of admission and/or federal financial aid or dismissal from Chadron State College.

TRANSFER Requirements

  • Apply - Complete and submit an online Admissions Application on the Application page.

    As a college transfer, you must disclose a full and complete listing of any college you previously attend. You are required to provide OFFICIAL transcripts from any institution you previously attended, prior to enrollment. Please contact each institution you have taken courses with to request the official transcripts.
    Transcripts will be accepted if they are "in-progress" if you are currently enrolled, for the purpose of enrollment, however a FINAL and OFFICIAL transcripts is required once your courses are completed and graded.

  • High School Transcripts
    Official, high school transcripts are necessary unless one or more of the following requirements have been met:
    • At least 60 credit hours of college coursework has been achieved,
    • An Associate of Art, Science, or Applied Science degree has been attained,
    • After earning a high school diploma, at least six college credits have been completed prior to July 2012.

Returning to CSC (Re-Admit Undergraduate Students ONLY)

To apply for admissions at Chadron State College, please follow these steps:

  • Complete and submit an online Admissions Application on the Application page.
  • Submit official college transcripts from each college attended following your enrollment at Chadron State College.

Matriculation Fee Information

Every student who enrolls for the first time at Chadron State College shall pay a one-time, $15 matriculation fee. The fee is used to establish a student's record and is non-refundable except in cases where the student is denied admission to CSC.
