Welcome

The Counseling curriculum at Chadron State College offers Master’s level training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling. Students can prepare to work professionally in various public and private counseling agencies, or within elementary or secondary school settings. The curricula in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling are designed to provide experiences that will allow students to seek licensure in Counseling and certification in School Counseling, respectively.

Application to the graduate program is made through the online application found at the Graduate School (Graduate Studies Home Page).

Application to the Counseling program is a 2-step process. All students are required to attend the Counseling Interview prior to completing their first semester of the counseling program. The Counseling Interview is an individual student interview with the Counseling faculty. Only Counseling students accepted after the Counseling Interview will (also) attend the Counseling Orientation. The Counseling Interview is conducted in Chadron, NE, while the Counseling Orientation is offered each semester in both North Platte and Chadron, Nebraska. Graduate Counseling students must attend both meetings (Counseling Interview and Counseling Orientation) for acceptance by the Counseling faculty into the Counseling program.
