How to Submit to Tenth Street Miscellany

The Department of English and Humanities at Chadron State College publishes Tenth Street Miscellany, a faculty and student reviewed journal, in order to encourage and showcase student creative writing, photography, and art. Faculty and staff may submit, but the majority of the publication will be devoted to student work.  In the past, submissions have been limited to the CSC campus and community, but the 2009 edition expanded to include submissions from Peru and Wayne State Colleges. Inquiries may be directed to Dr. Katherine Bahr, Dept. of English and Humanities, Chadron State College, 1000 Main Street, Chadron, NE 69337. Phone: 308-432-6276   E-mail: kbahr@csc.edu

Types of submissions:

1. Poetry
2. Short fiction (limit of 5 typed, double-spaced pages)
3. Black-and-white photographs—digital
4. Black-and-white art—digital

How to submit:

1. Type each poem or work of fiction in a separate word document and attach it to an e-mail addressed to Dr. Katherine Bahr at kbahr@csc.edu (phone: 308-432-6276).
2. Create a 5 x 7 .jpg file at 300 dpi for each photograph or artwork and attach it to an e-mail addressed to Dr. Katherine Bahr at kbahr@csc.edu. If you experience difficulties with artwork or photo submissions, contact Craig Conway at cconway@csc.edu (phone: 308-432-6262).
3. Put “Tenth Street Miscellany” in the subject line. With each submission, include your name, address, and e-mail address. Also, please identify yourself as a member of one of the following categories of eligible submitters:
   • Student at Chadron, Wayne, or Peru State Colleges
   • Faculty at Chadron, Wayne, or Peru State Colleges
   • Staff at Chadron, Wayne, or Peru State Colleges

Submission deadline for the 2012 Tenth Street Miscellany is January 30, 2012.
