- What is an online course?
Online courses are courses in which all instruction, assignments, projects, papers, quizzes, and exams are completed through your computer. You will actively participate in your learning by communicating through your computer to the instructor to other students.
- What is the advantage of online courses?
Flexibility. Online courses can be completed anytime and anywhere you have access to a computer and a connection to the Internet. CSC online courses are delivered asynchronously. That means you do not have to be online at the same time as the instructor or other students. You can participate in your class anytime of the day or night—whatever fits your schedule. No more taking time from your busy schedule to go to a campus and sit in a traditional classroom. Complete your course from work, at home, and even while on vacation.
- How do I know I am ready for online learning?
Online learning is different from regular classes. As an online learner, you must be engaged in the course. You should be highly self-motivated, have good reading and writing skills, and have email and high speed Internet access.
- Can I complete a degree online?
Yes. Chadron State College offers several bachelor’s degree completion programs and complete master’s degrees, as well as many individual elective and general studies courses online.
- How much do online courses cost?
All CSC online courses are offered at the same low, per-credit-hour cost for both in-state and out-of-state students.
- When are online courses offered?
CSC online courses are available during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
- How do I find which courses are available?

- Do I need a textbook for online courses?
It varies from course to course, but generally online courses require a textbook. You can order textbooks online or by toll-free telephone from the Eagle Pride Bookstore at CSC. You should order your books two to three weeks before classes begin so that you are ready as soon the course begins.
- How will online courses appear on my transcript?
Online courses will not appear any differently on your transcript than face-to-face courses.
