Greetings from the Foundation!!
It has been a busy fall on the CSC campus! Homecoming reunion groups included the Class of 63 and 64, the Bill Baker Era group, and the Chi Omega’s. Distinguished Alumni Awards and Distinguished Service Awards were presented during the Homecoming brunch.
Family Tree Awards were presented to three families during Family Day weekend recognizing them for having 3 or more generations attend or graduate from Chadron State College.
The Chadron State Foundation’s annual “Town-Gown” Campaign wrapped up after 2 weeks of intense fundraising from over 100 volunteers from campus and the Chadron community. The annual campaign has been conducted since the early 1980’s and continues to raise significant support for Chadron State College. Last year over $200,000 was raised for program and scholarship support.
This campaign is just one part of the “annual campaign”. The second part is the annual phonathon, which will be held February 2 -19, 2015. CSC students will call over 10,000 alumni and friends, updating information and seeking support for the college. We appreciate your willingness to visit with these students.
The Hall of Fame dinner was appropriately held on the evening of Con Marshall Day. Congratulations to all Hall of Fame recipients and to Con Marshall for a well-deserved honor!
The first basketball game will be played on the Loy Young Court in the Chicoine Center on November 14. Construction on offices and the football locker room continues. It is an amazing facility and long overdue. A dedication of the building will be held next fall when construction on the new addition is complete.
Construction also continues on Phase II of the Rangeland Complex, with an expected completion date of fall 2015. The complex will house labs, classrooms, and faculty offices. It also features a stunning view of campus.
Please let us know if you have plans to visit campus. We would welcome the opportunity to give you a tour of campus and show you all of the exciting changes!
