The lessee (person that contracts for the apartment) must be either Married, a Single parent with child, or a non-traditional student. The undergraduate lessee must be enrolled for 12 semester hours (full time student status) during the fall and spring terms. To stay in housing during the summer, the lessee must be pre-registered as a full time student for the fall semester or taking a minimum of 3 hours per summer session. The graduate lessee must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 semester hours (full time student status) during the fall and spring terms. The summer requirement is the same as the undergraduate. The first step in applying for CSC Apartments is to complete a Chadron State College Housing Application form online, or in the Housing office at Crites Hall. This form should be completed and returned to the Housing Office. All CSC Apartments are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority for all units is based upon the date submission of a completed application. Current occupants of housing units have first priority for moving within the complex. Students are notified of their apartment when an assignment is made. If an assignment cannot be made, a students application will be kept active at the Housing Office until an available unit is assigned or until written notice of cancellation is received.
A $50.00 processing fee must accompany the CSC Apartment application form. An apartment may not be assigned until the processing fee is received. The processing fee is non-refundable and applies to future contract processing of the tenant as long as the tenant/student remains in the apartments (summers excluded).
$150.00 Apartment Reservation Cancellation Fee is assessed for canceling an apartment reservation after the deadlines of June 1 for Fall semester and December 1 for Spring semester and prior to the start date of the semester. All cancellations, regardless of the application date or whether an actual apartment assignment has been made, will be subject to all of these policies. After the start of the semester a $150.00 Contract Cancellation will be charged.
