Official Transcripts

Applicants who have graduated from an American high school and are applying as entering freshman need only to have the school send a sealed official copy of their transcript (including grades for all coursework taken and the student's graduation date) indicating the final cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0.

Applicants who have graduated from a high school outside the United States and are applying as entering freshman must provide a certified English translation of their official transcript confirming the applicant:

  • Has completed a high school program equivalent to a U.S. high school program (transcript must include grades for all coursework taken and the student's graduation date).
  • Has achieved a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Foreign high school transcripts DO NOT NEED TO BE INDEPENDENTLY EVALUATED, UNLESS:.

  • CSC cannot determine if the applicant graduated from a high school program equivalent to a U.S. high school program.
  • CSC cannot accurately determine the authenticity of the transcript.
  • CSC cannot determine if the student meets the minimum grade point average requirement.

Foreign high school transcripts requiring independent evaluation do not need to be evaluated on a course-by-course basis - only for evidence of a diploma and acceptable final cumulative GPA. Students should only request the evaluation AFTER they have graduated from their high school as the transcript must be complete, demonstrating grades for all coursework taken as well as the student's graduate date. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required except as follows:

  • A minimum of a 3.25 GPA is required for applicants applying for the International Student Tuition Waiver.

PLEASE NOTE: applicants who have completed college credits while still in high school will be required to have their foreign transcript documents evaluated on a course-by-course basis.

Chadron State College will accept transcript evaluations from most (but not all) organizations recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators. Inc. (AICE). Typically, these services will require transcripts to be sent from the foreign educational institution directly to them.  They also may require certified English translations of documents. A fee from the student is required for evaluating of credentials.  Fee payment and all contact regarding this process is the applicant's responsibility.

  • If you want to use another evaluation service, please contact international@csc.edu first to ensure we will accept evaluations from that company.
  • If CSC receives transcripts from a service that does not meet CSC’s standards, CSC reserves the right to delay or deny admission until CSC receives an acceptable transcript evaluation.
