Please complete the form below to initiate an open, free or reduced-cost textbook alternative search for your course.
An open textbook is a kind of open-education resource (OER). OERs are freely accessible, openly licensed teaching and learning materials. These materials typically reside in the public domain or have been released under a Creative Commons License. A free textbook may or may not be an OER; more often than not, these are copyrighted, and there may be access and distribution limits.
In addition to a search for high-quality OER and free textbooks, librarians will also check to see if your current textbook may be obtained less expensively in an e-book format via one of the library’s e-book vendors.
