Choir

There are five choirs available to students, all of which may be taken for one hour of college credit. The ensembles are open to majors, minors and non-majors.

Concert Choir: This ensemble performs works representing standard and contemporary literature for its regular concerts covering a variety of styles and musical genres. Auditions for this group take place the weekend before and the first day of classes.

Women’s Ensemble: This ensemble is open to all women. They perform regular concerts covering a variety of styles and musical genres. A brief audition for vocal placement will be held. Auditions for this group take place the weekend before and the first day of classes.

Men’s Ensemble: This ensemble is a select men’s group. Members must also belong to Concert Choir. They perform regular concerts covering a variety of styles and musical genres. It is open to all men who qualify by audition. Auditions for this group take place the weekend before and the first day of classes.

Vocal Jazz: This ensemble is a select mixed group. The group performs vocal jazz pieces accompanied by a small jazz combo. It is open to all students who qualify by audition. Auditions for this group take place the weekend before and the first day of classes.

Community Chorus: This ensemble is open to all students and community members without audition. This choir performs a wide array of literature and often combines with the Bordeaux Community Band for concerts. Choir members supply their own concert attire.
