We are so pleased your student is attending CSC this fall!

During New Student Orientation (NSO), August 17th and 18th, 2017, your student will move into their residence hall and begin to acclimate to the Eagle campus lifestyle. It is a time for us to officially welcome your student into our Eagle family. In addition, you and your student will attend important informational sessions about our expectations in the classroom, on-campus and in the community.

The FAQ's tab is full of helpful information for parents and students, but here is some helpful information for you, as a parent/guest about our events:

Communication Information

  • We will be sending information to your student's EagleMail (official campus email address) AND permanent address (as listed on their MyCSC account) over the summer.
  • Most communications will be student-focused, as it is imperative your student begin the process of transitioning to independence by reading and understanding what we have sent to them. This will only benefit them once they are a student this fall.
  • Please make sure your student is checking and reading the information provided to them on their MyCSC and EagleMail accounts at least once a week.
  • We encourage you to be present when they log in, so you are aware of what we have communicated.

Event Registration & Costs

  • New Student Orientation (NSO), August 17th and 18th, 2017, is required for ALL incoming freshman students and we encourage parents/guests to attend.
    • If you plan to stay overnight on Thursday, August 17th, you are encouraged to book hotel accommodations ASAP. Visit the Hotel information tab for details.
  • All new students are automatically assessed a $100 Orientation fee to their Fall CSC bill. For incoming freshman, this fee covers the cost of the NSO event and meals for your student and two (2) guests. It also helps to cover the costs associated with our Signing Day sessions.
    • Your student registers for NSO within the Ready to Register form.
    • Your student registered guests for NSO withing the Ready to Register form.
      • This registration included the two (2) guests included with the $100 fee and any additional guests over the age of twelve (12).
      • Students are charged $50 for each additional guests registered over the age of twelve (12).
  • The $100 Orientation fee and any additional guest fees are reflected on the student's CSC Fall Bill
    • Students must pay these fees and any other outstanding charges on their CSC Fall bill by September 3, 2017.
      • Information about financial aid and billing is provided at Signing Day.
      • General information can be found by visiting the Business Office web page.
    • Both the Orientation fee and fees for additional guests are flat-rate fees. Fees cannot and will not be prorated if students, parents and/or guests choose not to attend any portion of the event
  • All guests who attend NSO must be pre-registered by August 1, 2017

    • Changes/additions/cancellations/refunds will not be accepted or processed after August 1, 2017.
    • Guests who are not pre-registered will be unable to attend the events and meals hosted during NSO.
    • Students can request guest changes or add additional guests (if not previously registered at the time they submitted the Ready to Register form) using the Additional Guest Registration Form.
