Program Descriptions

Education

This program of study prepares students to be teachers in either elementary, middle school, or high school. Students successfully graduating from this program are qualified to be certified as teachers in Nebraska.

  The program includes special education for the preparation of teacher who will work with the handicapped populations within a school. This specialized education helps teachers improve the lives and educational opportunities for a special segment of the population.

Physical Education A program of study that prepares students to be teachers of physical education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This program also includes a study for coaching young people.

Recreation This program of study prepares individuals to work in the leisure management field. This is a broad career area and includes management of sports organizations, personal health wellness and fitness clinics, and recreational camps.

Counseling and Psychology A program of study that investigates the mental activity and behaviors of people with the intent of improving the quality of life for individual and society.

Social Work A specific program of study to prepare individuals to be social workers. Students successfully graduating from this program are qualified to be licensed as social workers in Nebraska.
