Two special words when you live in the sparsely populated regions of rural Nebraska. If you are a student that resides in rural Nebraska and your career interest is in health care, you can help meet the needs of rural Nebraska through the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP).
RHOP is a cooperative program between Chadron State College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Students admitted into this program must be from rural Nebraska. The purpose of the program is to recruit and educate students from rural Nebraska who will return to practice in the rural areas of the state. This program represents a commitment and dedication to the education of Nebraskans and quality health care for the citizens of the state. Upon selection into the program, students are automatically pre-admitted into their specific program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Students are strongly encouraged and expected to return to the rural areas of Nebraska to practice.

The Rural Health Opportunities Program is a cooperative program between Chadron State College (CSC) and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The application packet must include the application, three letters of recommendation (in sealed envelopes), a copy of the ACT scores, and high school and college transcripts.
