Welcome to Chadron State College, Chadron State College (CSC) as one of three college of the Nebraska State College System, offers programs at the bachelor and master’s level at an affordable cost. So what makes CSC different from the numerous other higher education institutions?
“A university is what a college becomes when the faculty loses interest in the students.” - John Ciardi
This does not diminish what a university contributes to society through research. However for most universities teaching and learning are secondary. For CSC it is the cornerstone. It is similar to great athletes and coaches. Seldom is a player both a great athlete and a great coach – they require different skill sets. CSC has honed its skills as a teaching and learning institution.
“In times of change, learners inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.” – Eric Hoffer
CSC faculty and staff members are a community of learners involved in continuous improvement in order to furnish great learning experiences. For instance CSC faculty and staff utilize 21st century pedagogy.
“Some people, when they do someone a favor, are always looking for a chance to call it in. And some aren’t, but they’re still aware of it – still regard it as a debt. But others don’t even do that. They’re like a vine that produces grapes without looking for anything in return … after helping others … They just go on to something else … We should be like that.” - Marcus Aurelius
CSC exemplifies a community of givers. The vast majority of CSC faculty members could earn more money within private enterprise. They have chosen to create opportunities for others to enhance their lives.
I hope you will take a close look at CSC. CSC may be the fit for you.
