General Admissions Information

Chadron State College is committed to the policy that all persons have equal opportunity and access to programs without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, marital status, gender, age, religion, or disability. All students seeking admission for enrollment must complete the Application for Admission and submit all related documents before final acceptance can be granted. All materials become the property of Chadron State College and will not be returned. Admission may be revoked if granted on the basis of false information willfully submitted, or if the disclosure of facts required in the application process are intentionally concealed or omitted.

Chadron State College shall admit as students those persons who have graduated from an accredited high school or who present evidence of the achievement of a High School Equivalency Certificate based on the General Educational Development examination.

FRESHMEN Requirements

The Admissions Process

Freshman (First time in college after high school)

  1. Complete the Admissions Application
  2. Submit Official Transcripts and Scores
    • Upon high school graduation, have final official high school transcript sent to Chadron State College
      • GED scores can be ordered by calling 402-471-2475 or ordered online on the GED website. Out-of-state GED scores can be ordered by contacting the Department of Education for the state in which the test was taken
    • Complete the ACT/SAT and request official scores sent to Chadron State College. Our ACT code is 2466 and our SAT code is 6466. Scores are acceptable in one the following formats:
      • Directly from ACT/SAT
      • Copy of the score report
      • On high school transcript
      • If sending SAT scores, composite and all sub-scores must be included
      • If the student graduated from high school or earned a GED within the past five years, the ACT is required. If the student graduated from high school or earned a GED over six years ago, a placement test is required
    • For any college credit (dual entry/early entry) earned while in high school, request official transcripts from each institution attended be sent to Chadron State College
      • Unofficial transcripts may only be submitted for classes currently in-progress and will be used for admissions review and enrollment ONLY
        • Must be from institution attending
        • Must contain name of the institution
        • Must contain students name
        • Must contain course name(s) and grades
      • Official transcripts from all institutions attended MUST be received prior to the beginning of the first term of attendance
      • ONLY Official transcripts will be used to review coursework from previously attended institutions to articulate for transfer credit

TRANSFER Requirements

Transfer (12 or more attempted college credits post high school)

  1. Complete the Admissions Application
  2. Submit Official Transcripts and placement
    • All transfer students must disclose a full and complete listing of any college previously attended.
      • Unofficial transcripts may only be submitted for classes currently in-progress and will be used for admissions review and enrollment only
        • Must be from institution attending
        • Must contain name of the institution
        • Must contain students name
        • Must contain course name(s) and grades
      • Official transcripts from all institutions attended MUST be received prior to the beginning of the first term of attendance
      • Only official transcripts will be used to review coursework from previously attended institutions to articulate for transfer credit

  • Per the Department of Education, high school transcripts are necessary unless one or more of the following requirements have been met:
    • At least 60 credit hours of college coursework has been achieved,
    • An Associates of Arts, Science, or Applied Science degree has been attained,
    • After earning a high school diploma, at least six college credits have been completed prior to July 2012
    • Prior to enrollment at Chadron State College, transfer students are required to meet our Math and English placement requirements http://www.csc.edu/transfer/placement/index.csc

Transcript Policy

Students may not omit any part of their previous college records, whether part-time or full-time, with or without degree objectives, whether or not credit has been granted, or whether or not they desire to transfer credit. Chadron State reserves the right to use the National Student Clearinghouse and/or the National Student Loan Data System to verify that students have accurately disclosed their academic history. Failure to disclose a complete collegiate record may result in denial of admission and/or federal financial aid or dismissal from Chadron State College.

Unofficial

  • Any transcript that has been opened by you or anyone else before being turned into Chadron State
  • Transcript printed from student’s previous institution portal

Official

  • Generally requested from the Registrar’s Office of the institution previously attended
  • Sent to Chadron State directly from the institution, either electronically or by mail

Returning to CSC (Re-Admit Undergraduate Students ONLY)

To apply for admissions at Chadron State College, please follow these steps:

  • Complete and submit an online Admissions Application on the Application page.
  • Submit official college transcripts from each college attended following your enrollment at Chadron State College.

Graduate Requirements

To apply for admissions at Chadron State College, please follow these steps:

  • Visit the Graduate website to view requirements for each of the graduate programs.
  • Complete and submit an online Admissions Application on the Application page.
  • Official transcripts from the college/university which issues bachelor's degree.
  • Official transcripts from any institutions attended after receiving bachelor's degree, if applicable.

Matriculation Fee Information

Every student who enrolls for the first time at Chadron State College shall pay a one-time, $15 matriculation fee. The fee is used to establish a student's record and is non-refundable except in cases where the student is denied admission to CSC.
